Veteran of the Great Patriotic War Pavel Pimenovich Biryukov remembers liberated Minsk and destroyed streets. Guests from the alma mater militia defender of the Motherland spoke about the long way to Victory.

About Paul Pimenovich, they know that he was born on February 12, 1925 in the Bryansk region in a large family of peasants. He was the eldest son and from childhood he knew the price of bread, which was extracted by heavy peasant labor. Pavel Biryukov dreamed of becoming an engineer, but the Great Patriotic War fundamentally changed his life and crossed out all childhood dreams. As for many others, the war became a severe test for him. In March 1943, Pavel Pimenovich served in the 281 anti-aircraft artillery regiment. In endless battles in the 3rd Belorussian Front he passed all his native Belarus, liberated Smolensk, Orsha, Borisov, Grodno, Minsk. The veteran noted that it was especially difficult to defend the crossing on the Neman river in the Grodno region. "The Fascists conducted an uninterrupted bombardment of the crossing, almost all the combat crew was killed," the veteran said. For this fight, he was awarded a medal "For Military Merit".
- I remember liberated Minsk: ruined streets, ruined houses. And despite all this, women and children walked with flowers. They were happy to be liberated, thanking the soldiers, throwing bouquets at tanks and cars, - remembers Pavel Pimenovich.
Pavel Biryukov came to Koenigsberg, where he met the Great Victory. The Order of the Patriotic War is a vivid testimony of his courage, valor and honor. "For the capture of Koenigsberg", "For the victory over Germany in the Great Patriotic War of 1941-1945", five thanks to the Supreme Commander-in-Chief and many jubilee awards were awarded to a war veteran.
In peacetime, for more than 40 years, Pavel Pimenovich worked at the radio center, was awarded the title of "Honorary Radio Operator". He was elected deputy, almost 20 years head of the local veteran organization.
